Despite its reveal seven years ago and becoming California's new Prius, the Tesla Model 3 still represents the pinnacle of automotive technological progress. Almost akin to that of Jobs' original iPhone, the Model 3 took virtually every preconceived notion of what a car should be and discarded it. Instead, Tesla not only formulated its own rules but its own entire game— and its record-breaking sales and obsessive intrigue prove that so. Around the same time, Chevrolet released its fully-electric Bolt; though less expensive, it stuck to the unwritten auto industry rules, and its sales and general interest paled in comparison to that of the Model 3.
