Do you ever wonder what would happen if some of the world's biggest, heaviest, and most powerful SUVs faced off in a drag race? Fortunately, the folks over at Hagerty had the same thought and made it happen in their latest YouTube video.

Presenter Jason Cammisa shows what happens when a Ford F-150 Raptor R, Cadillac Escalade V, Rolls-Royce Cullinan, Mercedes-AMG G 63, and Land Rover Range Rover compete in a flat-out drag race.

F-150 Raptor Makes Easy Work Of The Heavy Super-SUVs

The goal of this race, according to Cammisa, was to bring together a group of vehicles weighing around 6,000 lbs. with their most powerful engines to see which was quickest. From the 700-hp F-150 Raptor R to the 523-horsepower Range Rover, the group presents an interesting mix. They all share two characteristics, however: size and power.

As the race commenced, the results weren't terribly surprising. The Ford F-150 Raptor R leaps ahead and charges to an easy victory, followed by the Escalade V. The Cadillac would have eventually caught up with its superior top speed if it had enough runway though. The Rolls-Royce Cullinan fishes third, and the Range Rover finishes just behind in fourth.

The competition heats up a bit once a couple of models from performance brands show up, however. The video shows a second race in which the F-150 Raptor R takes on a Lamborghini Urus and a Mercedes-AMG G 63.

The AMG G-Wagon makes a stout 577 horsepower and 629 pound-feet of torque, while the Urus makes 641 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque. Both SUVs have substantial weight advantages over the Raptor R despite falling short on power.

Once the race commences, the Lamborghini immediately jumps out to a healthy lead. It goes on to gap the F-150 Raptor R in second, while the AMG G63 trails behind in third place.

The entire demonstration just goes to show how far internal-combustion-powered SUVs have come. The slowest of the bunch, the Range Rover, still managed to accelerate from zero to 60 MPH in just 4.6 seconds. That's as quick as a Ferrari coupe in the 1990s.

Still, it's doubtful these trucks and SUVs are the quickest at their size. Given the opportunity, the industry's leading electric SUVs would likely give each of these gasoline-powered tanks a run for their money. A drag racing pitting the above models against the best electric trucks and SUVs like the Rivian R1S, Tesla Model X, and Ford F-150 Lightning would be a sight to see.
