The Pikes Peak hillclimb is one of the most dangerous and dramatic motorsport events in the world. The fearsome climb up the Colorado Mountains is over 12 miles long and has 156 turns. The event is a real test of humans and machines. Scott Birdsall tackled the event this year in a wild diesel pickup truck build. This is a 1949 Ford F-1 pickup truck that broke the Pikes Peak diesel record in 2020. However, a nasty crash totally destroyed the truck although thankfully, Birdsall emerged unscathed.
