When the latest-generation C8 Chevrolet Corvette emerged in 2020, it became not just the most-advanced Corvette, but also one of the best sports cars ever.

The C8 brought mid-engined philosophy to the American icon and the Z06 performance model showed that the Corvette can hang with actual supercars, and not just in a straight line.

Now there’s much more coming in the form of the hybrid E-Ray and upcoming ZR1 – but there’s a cheaper way to experience a good percentage of the home-grown V8 and sports cars thrill without having to remortgage your house. That’s what YouTube channel 'The Fast Lane Car' have in mind as they head out to buy one of the best Corvette bargains in a new video.

Here’s what you can get for $23,000.

Buying A C6 Chevrolet Corvette From The Classifieds

The Fast Lane Car pick up a 2006 Chevrolet Corvette, the second in a short period of time; the last car was a C5 Corvette, the generation before this C6. A lot changed despite the classic American sports car recipe staying true to its roots. They note that the pop-up lights didn’t survive this evolution, but under the hood of the C6 Corvette is a 6-liter, 400-hp V8.

In addition, it has a few features or qualities that make it a great buy for its $23,000-asking price.

As they roll up at the private seller’s house, it’s revealed that the car is a lightly used and garaged example owned by an older man. It turns out that the car has a manual transmission, and the Z51 performance pack.

Not only that, but it has a Borla exhaust for a superior soundtrack and no other upgrades.

How Much Is The C6 Chevrolet Corvette Worth?

In apparent great condition, the red sports car gets driven out of the garage and taken away. The YouTubers note that only a minority of 2006 Corvettes came with this spec combination.

Still, the car is only $23,000, and is sure to be an appreciating icon as time goes by, and we leave the analog, fossil-fueled car age.

According to Hagerty, a ‘good’ 2006 Chevrolet Corvette is worth an average of only $20,000, and Classic.com suggests the 2006 C6 ‘Vette is worth an average of just $36,000, which includes all the special editions.

The team find that only a ‘Change Oil’ message and non-functional tire pressure gauge will need fixing, which leaves this as an ideal, affordable, piece of American car enthusiast history.
